Dr Tambimuttu was excellent. He made me feel comfortable talking about my condition and clearly explained the treatment plan. I felt like he understood what I have experienced.

I had an online ADHD assessment with Dr Neel Tambimuttu, where I was given a diagnosis. I felt that the 50 minute slot I was given was not enough time for a thorough assessment; Dr Tambimuttu only had time to ask me a few basic questions and he had to keep interrupting me. He then spent the most part of the session talking about treatment, when I had a lot that I wanted to know that was more related to the diagnosis itself. I felt like he moved on from telling me I had ADHD very quickly and I didn't have time to process it before he started explaining treatment options. I'm glad he talked about treatment but I would rather have been told more about my ADHD itself than medication, as I already knew that I did not want medication. I also felt like I was not properly validated, because when I asked "are you sure I have ADHD?" he said "from what you have told me, yes." which made me feel like he didn't properly assess me and he was just taking my word for it. I thought that being told yes to the question of "do I have ADHD?" would be a relief but I just feel like I have more questions now than answers. I feel really weird and I'm not sure whether or not I really have ADHD. Dr Tambimuttu was very professional and friendly and explained treatment options very thoroughly but I wanted to hear more about why he decided to diagnose me. I found that the advice he gave me was somewhat helpful, such as exercising to help me sleep, but others were not such as reduce caffeine intake (I don't drink caffeine), and limit screen time to 1 hour a day (completely unrealistic). He did however reassure me that having ADHD doesn't make me useless and I can still do what I want to achieve in life, which I appreciated.
